In the search for resource-saving products for Actigreen we receive samples to test latter at home, and some of them do not cease to amaze me. The last product we have included is the Waterpebble , a small device that helps save water in the shower. This is an small plastic piece pebble shaped that has some internal LED lights in green, yellow and red colors.
I must confess that my daily shower first thing in the morning is primarily for my personal hygiene but it also has a revitalizing aspect that helps me to face the day awake and ready. Due to this therapeutic aspect I am perhaps longer under the shower than it is strictly necessary for the hygienic aspect, too long for sure.
Let’s go back to the Waterpebble. In the first shower that I took the waterpebble measured how log I stayed in the shower. Next day, as soon as the unit got wet from the shower a little green light began to flash, which later turned yellow and finally it turned red. On this showers and the next ones I took using this gadget I went into the game of trying to beat the red light and stop before it started flashing. Taking quicker showers has become a game, and I sincerely believe that the impact is extraordinary.
Surely some of you stay undeterred by a light flashing on your feet but for me it has become a fun race that often ends with the tap turned off and an exclamation of satisfaction at having won. Oh, and the waterpebble shortens your shower 5 seconds every day until you start the game again.
Of all the gadgets that we sell at actigreen this is one of the cheapest and certainly one with much greater impact on water and energy savings than other more expensive devices.
